As Des Moines & Nashville Wedding Photographers, it is always an honor to get to capture weddings for other creatives. Hilary is an amazing photographer (check her work here!), so when she and Anthony asked me to photograph their wedding at groom’s childhood home in Lebanon, Tennessee, I was honored! With only 30 guests, the day was intimate and beautiful. The details were thought out and meaningful and the fall weather was ideal. And these two could not have been more in love. Surrounded by their families and an amazing group of friends, this intimate wedding was perfect in every respect. It was my final wedding of 2019, and one of my favorites as a Nashville Wedding Photographer.
As a Des Moines Wedding Photographer, I have a long off season. During my downtime, I often work as a Editorial and Tour Documentary photographer in Nashville (and Los Angeles) with some of my friends who play music. Photographing bands is an awesome way to improve as an artist during the slow season for weddings. These are a few of my favorites from my recent trip to Nashville to work with Okey Dokey, Leah Blevins, Brandy Zdan, and Satsang.
This Des Moines Family Photography session was a ton of fun! This family has a passion for gardening and has a beautiful garden in their backyard in Ankeny, so they chose to have their family photos taken there. Picking a spot that is important and meaningful to the family always makes for the best photos in my opinion! Head over to the portfolio to see more!
Iowa City Photographers Cluney Photo recently traveled to Montana to photograph this Montana Destination Wedding. Kate & Mark got married at a family property in Helena, Montana. Their beautiful day reflected them completely. Even when a torrential downpour flooded their reception tent immediately following the ceremony, they took every moment in stride. At the end of the day, they were repaid with a double rainbow. This wedding deserved it! The day was a beautiful reflection of these two from getting ready to the party at the end of the evening. Congratulations to the wonderful Montana couple!

Since our move from Montana to Iowa, I’ve had the opportunity to do some Des Moines Family Photography! Focusing primarily on Lifestyle family sessions and in home photography, these family photos allow for natural interactions, real personalities to shine through, and allowing the children to be themselves. These sessions turned out as unique as each family. From fun, outdoor whole-family sessions to intimate, at home shoots, we love making images that speak to each individual family.
We’re now booking family full and mini sessions in Des Moines, Iowa City, Cedar Rapids, and throughout Iowa.

Midwest Destination Wedding Photographer Cluney Photo traveled to Weatherwood Homestead in Montana for this beautiful Montana Destination Wedding. Featured on Carats & Cake, Katie and Koben’s day was a beautiful mix of rustic elements and class, bringing their New York style to the mountains of Glacier National Park. Having grown up in Montana near Glacier Park, the groom’s love for Montana was evident in their venue selection.
Weatherwood Homestead is nestled right into the mountains on the edge of one of the most beautiful national parks in our country. The beauty of the day didn’t stop with the scenery though, as the incredible details from some of Montana’s best vendors accentuated the natural beauty of Montana.
One of the favorites of 2019 as a Midwest Destination Wedding Photographer, these two and the friends and family that surrounded this intimate wedding created a beautiful atmosphere for the wedding day.

Des Moines Wedding Photographer Cluney Photo recently travelled to Montana to photograph this beautiful Montana Destination Wedding at Green Valley Ranch in West Glacier, just miles away from Glacier National Park. A timeless and classic event in every respect, this wedding was as upscale as I’ve seen in my 10 years as a Des Moines and Montana Destination Wedding Photographer. From the beautiful dress to the green tuxedo worn by the groom, Holly & Rohan’s wedding exuded the class that they live with. Congratulations to this beautiful Montana couple!

Iowa Wedding Photographer Cluney Photo traveled to Montana for this beautiful destination elopement. Seated right on the edge of Glacier National Park, Green Valley Ranch is an incredible place. Jacklyn & Cole came from Cincinnati to Glacier for their intimate elopement. Surrounded by only their closest friends and family, as well as their daughter, this wedding was as perfect as you’d imagine. With help from Field Wedding Studio and A Movable Feast catering in Missoula, the couple was able to enjoy all the beauty of Montana and their family without the stressful aspects of a larger wedding. We made a quick trek to Glacier National Park the day after their elopement for some additional wedding photos. Congratulations Jacklyn & Cole!

Soon to be featured in Rocky Mountain Bride‘s Idaho Wedding Issue, Iowa Wedding Photographer Cluney Photo traveled to Swan Valley, Idaho for Courtney + JM’s beautiful backyard wedding on the groom’s property. Near Jackson Hole, Swan Valley’s natural beauty was an emphasis for this couple and their day. The couple, who reside in LA, had friends and family attending from all over the west coast. Their love was the real focus of the day though, and these two could not have been more in love. Surrounded by the love of their family and friends, this was one of my most memorable weddings of 2019.
Being an Iowa Wedding Photographer takes me all over the country! More of my recent work can be found on the blog and portfolio!
Kelsey & Steven came from San Francisco for their beautiful Montana Wedding in Whitefish. Being a traveling Des Moines Wedding Photographer, I get to see a lot of beautiful venues, and The Barns at Big Mountain was no exception. They held the ceremony in a wooded grove on the property. The reception, styled perfectly by Events by Autumn, took place in one of the barns on the property. Surrounded by friends and family at the base of Glacier National Park, this wedding was a beautiful event to witness. Congratulations to the amazing couple!

As Des Moines Family Photographers, we love when our work takes us on the road. The James family lives in American Fork, Utah. They’re some of my favorite folks on the planet. Joshua is an incredible musician and songwriter (check his tunes here). Photographed entirely in and around their home, this is one of my favorite family sessions to date.
