June 3, 2019Kelsey & Steven came from San Francisco for their beautiful Montana Wedding in Whitefish. Being a traveling Des Moines Wedding Photographer, I get to see a lot of beautiful venues, and The Barns at Big Mountain was no exception. They held the ceremony in a wooded grove on the property. The reception, styled perfectly by Events by Autumn, took place in one of the barns on the property. Surrounded by friends and family at the base of Glacier National Park, this wedding was a beautiful event to witness. Congratulations to the amazing couple!

May 2, 2019As Des Moines Family Photographers, we love when our work takes us on the road. The James family lives in American Fork, Utah. They’re some of my favorite folks on the planet. Joshua is an incredible musician and songwriter (check his tunes here). Photographed entirely in and around their home, this is one of my favorite family sessions to date.

April 22, 2019As Des Moines Wedding Photographers, my work takes me all over the nation. This year I had the opportunity to photograph some incredible wedding celebrations. From Montana to Iowa, to Nashville and beyond, it was one of my favorite wedding seasons to date. And I had the honor of being published by Martha Stewart Weddings, Rocky Mountain Bride, and more.

April 19, 2019Photographing Des Moines Couples + Families, my work takes me all over the nation. This year I had the opportunity to photograph some incredible people. From Montana to Iowa, to Nashville and beyond, it was one of my favorite years. And I had the honor of having some of my weddings published by Martha Stewart Weddings, Rocky Mountain Bride, and more. These couples + families, many of who are future or past wedding clients, are some of my favorite sessions to date. Getting to photograph Des Moines Couples + Families in their natural surroundings is why I do this.

April 18, 2019This year I branched out as a Des Moines Portrait Photographer and started focusing more heavily on portrait and editorial work in the music industry. I had the chance to tour with and/or photograph some of my favorites: Joshua James, The Wild Reeds, Gregory Alan Isakov, Okey Dokey, The Watson Twins, Bryan & Katie Torwalt and more. And 2019 has taken me back on the road to photograph some other great bands. While I’m still focused on Des Moines + Montana Weddings primarily, as well as being a Des Moines Portrait Photographer, these shoots are some of my favorites because of their creative freedom and laid-back nature.

September 18, 2018As a Des Moines Wedding Photographer, I love it when photography allows me to travel. This engagement session was in downtown Nashville. Tiana & Sam are incredible people and their love is as beautiful as they are. I met these two photographing Sam’s band. Getting to photograph this couple’s engagement session in one of my favorite cities was such a beautiful experience!

August 27, 2018I love getting to take part in Intimate Des Moines Weddings as a photographer. This couple brought me to Montana for their beautiful celebration at McGough Mountain Pavilion in Whitefish. It was as incredible as they are! Surrounded by family and their closest friends, it was an emotional day full of happy tears. It’s sure to be one of my favorite weddings for years to come!

August 24, 2018I often photograph Des Moines Elopements, and getting to travel to Montana for one is special! Jocelyn and Mitch originally planned their elopement for Glacier National Park, but forest fires caused a last minute relocation. Choosing to say their vows on a cliff overlooking Flathead Lake, this intimate wedding was full of beauty and emotion. With only myself, the officiant, and their two closest friends in attendance, this day offered all the intimacy that made me fall in love with photographing Des Moines Elopements. Jocelyn & Mitch laughed, cried, and committed their lives to each other forever. Congratulations to the couple!

July 27, 2018Our years as Okoboji Wedding Photographers prepared us well for this Montana Summer Camp Wedding! With fun as the primary focus, Hannah & Brian’s friends and family came from all over the country to celebrate with them on the shores of Flathead Lake. The entire weekend was hosted at Spruce Lodge. The guests were able to enjoy the relaxed, lakeside vibe these two envisioned when planning their Montana Wedding.
